From a hovering chopper of Aero-Tour Services, the enormous structure of the newly-opened SM Lanang is an amazing view to gaze at with the Davao Gulf and Samal Island at its background. SM Lanang, which opened on Friday, is considered as the largest mall in the island of Mindanao.

SM Prime’s biggest and first-of-its-kind premier mall development project in Mindanao, SM Lanang Premier opens its doors on September 28.

Located along JP Laurel Avenue in the northern part of the city, the elegant origami-inspired structure will house first in Mindanao state-of-the-art amenities such as IMAX Theatre, SM Center Stage, and the Skygarden. Also making a landmark is the country’s longest dancing fountain with 122-meter stretch of water jets.

Along with the SM mall mainstays SM Department Store, SM Supermarket, Watsons, Ace Hardware, and other major SM Retail affiliates (first open stores in Davao) Our Home and Kultura, the American chain of trendy clothing and accessory retailer Forever21 is opening with the mall. Plus, opening soon will be SM Bowling Center and the Science Discovery Center.

Responding to the city’s need for a modern convention facility, the mall will have no less than the Davao SMX Convention Center at its 3rd floor. To complement the facilty, Park Inn Hotel by Radisson will be operational in 2013. The hotel building is located in the compound and offers convenient access to the mall through a bridgeway.
